Clinical research plays a central role in the ophthalmology service of the university hospital of Créteil. Furthermore it is closely related with the clinical and surgical activities, so that many patients (those who adhere to a research protocol) can benefit from innovative and high-tech drugs which efficacy is studied in our hospital.
The main fields of research are: Age-related Macular Degeneration (AMD), macular dystrophies, retinal vein occlusions, diabetic retinopathy and high myopia. Several lines of research are developed on the theme of AMD: prevention, imaging, and innovative therapies.
The research activity is supported by institutional bodies (PHRC), companies (pharmaceutical laboratories) and organizations (Association DMLA).
